In this very important tutorial, I discuss social signals and engagement signals which are used in almost all search engines. Many people associate search marketing with Google SEO. But if you think about it, many other large sites have very large search components. For example, YouTube is a big search engine, the mobile app stores are search engines. Yelp and other big sites are also search engines.
Search engines use social signals and engagement signals as big determining factors in their search algorithm to help them rank different apps.
Social signals are things like likes or up-votes. Social signals are also comments that your users leave on your content. Another social signal is the frequency with which people like, comment and share your comment.
Engagement signals are things like how many people are coming to your content, and how long they are engaging with your content. For example, if a YouTube video gets watched for a longer amount of time, that is a positive engagement signal. This engagement signal is especially positive if competitive videos are watched for a lower amount of time on average.
As you improve your product or content, keep a very close eye on engagement signals and social signals. These will be a part of your marketing because the better your engagement and social signals are, the better your product or content will rank.

http://pixvid.me/externalannotations Video SEO is important for video marketers wanting to achieve audience growth. They review content strategy, optimize their videos, and see a rise in organic traffic. For successful video SEO, the next fundamental step is to persuade those audiences to take action and make a purchase decision once they finish watching your uploaded content. The best way to convince prospective customers to make the next step on YouTube is to create a call to action statement using external annotations—the YouTube platform’s new in-video feature that dramatically improves video SEO for partner program participants, who can use annotations to advertise their businesses within uploaded content.
External annotations can link to external websites, so that viewers can be more easily driven through the customer lifecycle and visit brand websites. YouTube’s new change also allows brands to create tracking links between videos and landing pages, making YouTube campaign effects on organic traffic more measurable. Pixability’s video marketing software further illuminates corporate YouTube efforts.
While enabling external annotations requires a little set up, it dramatically improves video SEO and allows you to easily create links between your videos and your website, including landing pages, and URLs using tracking codes, which not only helps you drive traffic to your website, but illuminates the journey of that traffic, making it easier to see the direct effects of video SEO on your YouTube campaigns.

In this tutorial, I explain how you can get links (often called backlinks) to your site from reputable and relevant websites. Usually, you would have to hire an SEO (search engine optimization) consultant or an agency, but with these tips, you can get many links (backlinks) to your website for free, and on your own.
Of course, you have to learn the strategies and understand how to do them well, but generally the linkbuilding strategies mentioned in this tutorial and in my linkbuilding course truly work. They are so effective that even if you are a beginner at SEO, you can easily begin executing these linkbuilding strategies and build many high quality, relevant backlinks from authoritative websites.
Many of my SEO clients come to me and tell me about the challenges they face when it comes to building links (backlinks) to their websites. And that is true. It isn’t easy. It is especially difficult to get high quality and relevant links from authoritative websites. This is why the tips in this tutorial are so spot on. The linkbuilding strategies in this tutorial show you how to get links by putting on events, using services like RadioGuestList.com and HARO to get publicity and build links to your website.
Try the strategies I discuss in this tutorial to get backlinks for your website, and see how effective they can be. Plus, if you have tried to get links to your website before seeing my strategies, you will also notice how much easier my strategies are to execute and succeed with than what you may have been trying before.
Note: if you have been hiring a link-building consultant or a link-building agency, you may be at risk because very often, if you get a good deal on some linkbuilding service, the people who may be performing the link-building tasks may be cutting corners and might get you low quality links that will be more likely to get your site penalized rather than boost your website’s rankings in Google. So be careful whom you hire to help you do this, especially now that you can get many links pointing to your websites from high quality, authoritative and relevant websites in your industry.

What is SEO link juice? Does link juice help your website rank in Google & should you preserve it?

In this tutorial I discuss the topic of SEO link juice. This is a concept that has been around for about 10 years, and it is a rough measure of how much SEO strength is contained in any given page, and how much of that is passed from any links to and from that page. This is an ok general barometer, but many people tend to take it too far, and often worry about linking out to other websites because they are worried that if they link to another website, they will lose the link juice from their website, and leak that SEO strength to the other site which they do not own. While this concern is somewhat legitimate, I would suggest not worrying about it too much. What you can do to preserve link juice is to interlink the pages of your own website so that most of it gets passed to the pages you already own. That way, only a small percentage of the link juice will leak out. And that is probably healthy because it is probably a good thing if a site links to other reputable websites.
