With a backdrop of changing political times in America and the continuing worldwide economic crisis, political satire is seemingly experiencing a renaissance in New York City.
Poster Boy NYC has been described as a kind of anti-consumerist Zorro with a razor blade. Preferring to remain anonymous Poster Boy NYC is said to be a group or movement who use razor blades to cut out and re-arrange elements of billboard images on the New York Subway to make both political and satirical statements about contemporary issues. Their belief is a simple one, one mans vandalism is anothers political art turning Subway stations into their own public art galleries.

As the name suggests, a Spot UV coating or “varnish” is applied to chosen spots (areas), of a printed card. This has the affect of highlighting and drawing attention to that part of the design, but it also provides the additional visual stimulus of having varied textures on a single printed surface. This adds a lot of interest, and can identify the printing as a premium piece in the perception of the reader.
